Despite the continued growth in popularity of subscription services in the gaming industry, their profitability is still very questionable. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick in a recent conversation with journalists commented on the announcement of the appearance of such a large franchise, such as Call of Duty, in Game Pass. According to him, such a game would indeed benefit from being added to the catalog, but only in the very short term. Take-Two remains skeptical of the idea of placing new AAA games on the service on the day of their release, so GTA 6 will get a standard release on consoles and PC.

As Strauss Zelnick notes, with the addition of new Call of Duty to Game Pass, the number of subscribers to the service will grow, but he is convinced that the growth of new users will be insignificant. In addition, such players may eventually unsubscribe, which, in turn, will negatively affect the overall statistics of the service.
